Recycle Week 2010
This year Recycle Week is taking place between 21 - 27 June and will focus on one material stream in particular - small waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
Throughout Recycle Week we will highlight the wide range of small electrical items that can be recycled and that unwanted items in good condition can be reused.
For more information on our plans for Recycle Week and ideas on how you might join us, please take a look at the Recycle Week 2010 Campaign Guide.
Partnership Opportunity
The British Heart Foundation is looking for local authorities to work in partnership with during Recycle Week and hopefully on a long term basis too. The BHF have approximately 90 Furniture and Electrical Shops across the country and if there is a shop in your area, you might want to consider joining forces. If you are planning to hold a 'swap shop' event during Recycle Week, they may be able to help you. They will collect any remaining electrical items that are in good working order and saleable condition, to raise funds for the charity.
Interested? E-mail them at recycleweek@bhfshops.org.uk.
Featurelink Advertorial
A full page advertorial will be placed in a number of regional newspapers. Hopefully, this will also be picked up by lots of local newspaper too, just as it was last year. Whilst we can provide you with a list of where we have placed the advertorial, we do not know which other papers will run this advert as this is purely at their discretion.
The Recycle Now Agony Aunt!
Do you have an old electrical item that you love too much to dump? Visit www.recyclenow.com from w/c 14 June and get Auntie's advice on what to do! This is a fun feature which will highlight where local electrical recycling facilities are located.

WEEE Facts
Did you know that a typical iron contains enough steel to make 13 food cans or that the plastic recovered from a Ghetto Blaster could make 267 yoghurt pots? Check out the Recycle Week 2010 - PR Toolkit for more great facts...
