New look for the Recycle Now Website

The Recycle Now consumer website has just been updated and has a great new look - just in time for Recycle Week.

Your residents will find changes have been made to the Postcode Locator. It's now much clearer to see which items can be recycled, so take a look now and make sure it's up-to-date for your area.

'Why Recycling Matters' and 'News' are new sections to build on consumer awareness and will be used to tell the recycling story. Lots more is planned in the coming months too.

Teaser to link to ORIS - the Online Recycling Information System

NEW! Recycling services for schools

WRAP's Online Recycling Information System (ORIS) has been extended to include information about recycling services available for schools in England.

The interactive maps can now be searched to find details of how recycling collection services operate in different local authority areas, as well as the types of communication and education services offered to schools in each area.

The information used in this resource was gathered through a survey carried out with local authorities and other service providers in England during December 2007, so thank you to everyone who contributed to this!

To help us make this new resource as useful as possible, please check out the information for your local area and use the 'Is Your Data Correct?' section to send any amends or additions to us.

Recycling in Schools pilot training course offered.

Working effectively with schools

If developing or delivering recycling collections to schools is part of your job role, consider the Recycling in Schools Training Course.

Take the opportunity to share your experiences; learn more about different approaches and strategies for recycling collection schemes; explore what can help sustain recycling behaviour in schools.

By encouraging a practical approach to planning, implementing and maintaining schemes in schools, the course provides an alternative approach to working directly with pupils to raise awareness about recycling.

The next Recycling in Schools Training Course will run from 16th-17th July 2008 in Birmingham.

Please click here if you would like to register for this course.
